Red Eyed Ballerina

So here is one of my favorite scary/ghost stories. I'm not sure why, but it is so creepy! Enjoy!

Once upon a time, there was a man who lived in a village. He lived alone in a little cottage and worked in the local mine. Every morning, he went up, had breakfast, read the newspaper, brushed his teeth and went to work. He always went the same way. When he quit work, he always went the same way back and had a few beers with his mates at the local pub. This was his life in general and he was quite happy with it.

One day, he decided he would take a detour when he went to his work in the morning, so therefore, he got up a bit earlier than usual to have time to observe the area around him. This happened, as he went and went and after a while he reached a forest, and inside the forest there was a beautiful house. He walked towards the house and thought he would find out who lived there, but no matter how many times he knocked on the door, noone opened. But he was terribly curious, so he peeked through the keyhole. There he saw an incredibly beautiful ballerina that was dancing beautifully, so beautifully. He stood there for a very long time and just watched as she jumped and spinned around. It was the most beautiful thing he'd ever seen. He was forced to hurry to the mine, but after he'd finish job, he thought, he'd go there again just to watch the dancing ballerina.

And as told, he went back to the house and peeked through the keyhole once again... But the ballerina wasn't there. All he could see was a red light. His whole field of vision was covered by a bloodred color. He thought it was strange but came to the conclusion that he couldn't do anything about it. So he went to the pub and had a few beers with his mates and told them the whole story about the beautiful ballerina.

Then, one of his friends looked at him and said:

"Haven't you heard of the ballerina with the red eyes?"

  1. Good into but the ending was lacking build up to the big revelation.
